Emergency repairs have closed a stretch of Winnipeg’s Marion Street through Sunday, the city says.
Marion will be closed in all directions between Archibald Street and Panet Road/Dawson Road N. due to the repairs, from 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, the city said in a new release.
An issue with a catch basin and surrounding pavement was discovered during other work being done to the street, a city spokesperson said to CBC News.

The city decided to do the repairs “as soon as possible” to avoid more pressure on rush-hour traffic in the area, the spokesperson said.
Local access will be maintained on either side of Dupuy Avenue during the closure, the release says.
Drivers should allow for extra travel time to go through the area, the city said. They can also download the Waze app for real-time traffic updates.
Transit will also be rerouted during the closure. Bus riders can also follow Winnipeg Transit’s service alerts online.
Regular updates on city lane closures can be viewed on the city’s website.
