Police have ruled out homicide in the death of a young man in Edmonton’s Westmount neighbourhood.
In a statement Friday, city police said the 22-year-old’s death Wednesday morning has been deemed non-criminal following an autopsy.
The man was found in medical distress outside a home near 124 Street and 109 Avenue. Police responded around 4 a.m., and the man was declared dead on scene.
The man’s death was initially deemed suspicious, but after an autopsy police concluded the case is non-criminal. The man’s identity is not being released.

Deaths are typically deemed non-criminal if they are from natural causes, accidents or suicides — or if their cause cannot be determined.
