Emma Raducanu faces a potential double-header as she starts the day’s proceedings with her quarter-final that was carried over, as the schedule at Queen’s Club plays catch-up. The rain could put a lot of pressure on Raducanu’s stamina as she bids to join Katie Boulter in the semi-finals.

She faces lucky loser Kamilla Rakhimova, who put paid to Harriet Dart’s campaign, and is enjoying a free hit at the moment. Neither player has had a remarkable year to this point so it feels like an even ground, going into the quarter-final.

There will be no doubt that the crowd will play a huge part for Raducanu but Rakhimova will be no pushover, having come through the qualifying rounds already and as always with Raducanu, the deeper she goes in a tournament, the more the concern as to whether she will just run out of steam at the end.

It was a remarkable win for Katie Boulter against former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina – and the Brit does what she does best in backing herself against the odds. She will face Donna Vekic, who is no slouch on grass, despite making it this far as a lucky loser.

Vekic had to pull double-duty after a washout on Thursday, with Vekic having started her first match of the day on Wednesday. She had to go the distance against Karolina Pliskova to book her spot in the last four.

Boulter should use both the momentum of a landmark win, and the British crowd to get her over the line and into her first WTA 500 final since winning the title in San Diego. Vekic is a tricky character on grass so it will be key to see how fatigued she might feel after two matches in one day.

Prediction: Boulter in three sets.
