After striking double gold at the 2026 Provincial Spring Flag Championships, the Cloverdale Community Football Association (CCFA) is now setting its sights on the fall.
While the older kids will move on to tackle football, the provincial champion U8s will continue on with flag.
The CCFA runs an in-house fall flag program for kids that age. Yeera Sami, CCFA president, said registration is open now for fall flag and there are still spots available.
“Lots of fun with three practices a week, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, with games on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m.,” Sami told the Cloverdale Reporter.
He added that all practices and games are at Cloverdale Athletic Park on the synthetic turf fields
“No travel required,” Sami noted. “We supply all equipment with an affordable registration fee.”
The fall flag season for U8s starts at the beginning of July and wraps at the beginning of November.
The CCFA president also said they are also looking for players for their tackle football program.
“We are now preparing to begin the fall tackle season on July 2,” said Sami. “(We) are recruiting and declaring for a U10 9-man tackle team for the 2026 fall season.”
Practices for fall tackle begin in July, but the regular season doesn’t start until September.
Sami said anyone interested in tackle or flag can find out more info by going to the CCFA website at cloverdalefootball.ca.
