Over 100 people gathered at Grant Church on Saturday evening for Winnipeg Adora, the first worship night of its kind.
“Winnipeg Adora is a worship event for our Spanish speaking community in Winnipeg to come together as one body and worship God together,” said Lead Organizer, Roger Montes.
Winnipeg Adora, which means ‘Winnipeg Worship’ featured natively Spanish worship songs as well as Spanish renditions of English worship songs.
Uniting believers
Although this is the first time Winnipeg Adora was held, it has been a long time in the making.
“I remember 15 years ago Roger said in his heart, he wanted the Latin community in Winnipeg to come together to worship. We’re seeing it come to pass here,” shared Organizer, Lily Montes.
A heart to unite Spanish speaking believers was behind the decision to host the event.
“We’re believing that all believers from all corners of Winnipeg that speak Spanish would come together in unity to worship His [Jesus] name,” continued Montes.

Freedom in Christ
Lily Montes hopes that people walk away set free to walk in fellowship with Christ.
“God is so good and I am believing through prayer that people will come in here and they will be set free in the mighty name of Jesus,” said Montes.
Montes shared that her motivation to see people walking in freedom comes from her personal experience.
“I’ve experienced this freedom and I’m just so full of joy knowing that people can experience this freedom too.
Hearts for service
Volunteers shared the importance about serving at Saturday’s worship night as members of the Latin community.
“We are immigrants and we’re here because of Christ. The most important thing is the Lord brought us here together as a body,” said Volunteer, Carol.
More volunteers shared that their motivation to serve was fueled by a desire to see people come to Christ.
“If somebody comes in not knowing Christ and is willing to open up their heart, I think we walk away with a win,” shared Volunteer, Daniel.
