Senior Men’s golf action is off and running with some regular names showing up in the winners’ circle this week. Bruce Towner and Derryl Urstadt fought it out for First Low Gross in the A-flight and it was very close. At the end of the day, however, it was Towner who came up on top as he shot 38, one stroke better than Urstadt, who claimed Second Low Gross with a 39.
Kent McVeigh has been playing some very good golf lately and he won First Low Net in the A-flight with a net score of 34, one under par. Lou Bezaire won Second Low Net with a net 35, one stroke behind McVeigh. In the B-flight, Mike O’Donohue has steadily improved his game over the past few weeks, shooting 43 this week on the front nine holes to win First Low Gross.
Dave Crossett and Dave Ezechiels tied for Second Low Gross with identical scores of 46. Gord Moore, Mike Shields and Eric Tait all had net scores of 36 and tied for First Low Net in the flight. Louis Bezaire won the Closest to the Pin competition on the fifth hole and Eric Tait sunk the Longest Putt on #7.

Men’s Golf News
Great turnout for Men’s golf on June 11 as we anticipate the new format that Golf Professional Bill Stewart will introduce next week. It involves a draught to determine teams that will eventually lead to a playoff at the end of the season for the Southampton Cup. More about that next week.
Back to golf results: Frank Borland had the low round of the day, shooting 39 and winning First Low Gross in the A-flight. Bruce Towner was only one stroke back as he won Second Low Gross with a score of 40.
Harold Agla won First Low Net with a net 34 while Dae MacFarland, Bob Shields and Louis Bezaire tied for Second Low Net in the flight with net scores of 36. Jim Martin had his best game so far this year as he shot 38 and easily won First Low Gross in the B-flight.
Ned Todorov took Second Low Gross with a score of 41. Colin Wisniewski won First Low Net with a great net score of five under par, 30. Terry Bailey won Second Low Net with a net 35.
In the C-flight, Dave Crossett won First Low Gross with a 42, one stroke ahead of Mike O’Donohue who took Second Low Gross with a 43. Dave Lemire had the lowest net score of eight under par 27 to win First Low Net – fantastic round Dave!
Eric Tait won Second Low Net with a net 35. Bob Shields won the Closest to the Pin competition on the fifth hole and Dave Lemire sunk the Longest Putt on #7.
