A massage therapist in Edmonton has been charged with one count of sexual assault after police investigated a complaint earlier this month.
The complainant reported that Julio Uribe, 36, touched her in a sexual manner without her consent while providing services at his practice.
As a result, Uribe was charged on June 10, according to an Edmonton Police Service news release issued Tuesday.
The release said the accused worked at Bamboo Wellness in the area near 34th Avenue and 97th Street in south Edmonton.
CBC News reached out to Bamboo Wellness, which declined to comment until consulting legal counsel.
Uribe has since been released with conditions that include not contacting the complainant and not returning to the business where the alleged assault occurred.
Investigators believe there may be additional complainants and are asking anyone who may have had a similar experience with Uribe to come forward.
Uribe is scheduled to make his first appearance in the Alberta Court of Justice in Edmonton on July 22.
