There’s a great opportunity for young cross-country racers in Ontario next month.

Ontario Cycling is bringing its Rising Stars mountain bike development program back to Copeland Forest on July 11. It gives cyclists a great chance to train with some of the province’s top coaches.

The deets

The one-day camp will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is aimed at riders aged 13 to 18. Riders should are already competing and looking to take the next step in their development.

Coaching duties will be led by Malcolm Barton, Roxy Slotegraaf, Sid Slotegraaf and Peter Glassford.

What to expect

Throughout the day, athletes will work on technical riding skills, race tactics and other key elements designed to help prepare them for the remainder of the 2026 season.

The camp is intended for riders with previous cross-country racing experience at the Ontario Cup level or higher. If you want to join, you should already have an Ontario Cycling UCI, Compete or Challenge membership and be planning to race this year’s Ontario Cups and Provincial Championships.
Registration costs $50, with a trail pass also required.
