A 16-year-old from Mississauga has been charged with 17 offenses following a series of break-ins targeting businesses in Vaughan and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Police reports indicate that these incidents occurred overnight, with the suspect allegedly using a fake gun to intimidate victims while targeting safes and cash. The joint investigation by York Regional Police and Peel Regional Police, initiated in March, culminated in the arrest of the teenager on June 11 at a residence in Mississauga, where a replica firearm and a stolen vehicle were recovered.
The teen faces charges including four counts of break-and-enter, two counts of theft over $5,000, and two charges of disguise with intent. This arrest highlights growing concerns about youth involvement in criminal activities across the region.
