The Montreal police arson squad will examine the scene of a fire that broke out early Thursday in a commercial building and garage in the borough of Lachine, the second time the site has been the scene of a fire in three days.
The latest incident occurred around midnight at the building on Pacifique Ave. near Montréal-Toronto Blvd. Firefighters brought the flames under control, but damage was extensive, police said. There were no injuries.
Police said flammables may have been found at the scene and they are investigating a report that at least one suspect was seen leaving the scene after the fire had begun.
The same building was the scene of a fire on Monday, with flames breaking out around 1:45 a.m.
