Alizée Thevenet wed James Middleton in an intimate ceremony in 2021 after a 2019 engagement. The Côte d’Azur nuptials were held in the picture-perfect village of Bormes-les-Mimosas, attended by close family, including the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Pippa Matthews, and, of course, Carole Middleton.
The love story began in 2018 with a serendipitous encounter at the South Kensington Club, where James’s cocker spaniel, Ella, ran over to Alizee. Her late father, the French diplomat Jean-Gabriel Thevenet, spoke of the match, saying: ‘My daughter Alizee is very happy with James, they are very much in love.’ Sadly, he passed away before the wedding.
In the years since, Alizée has proven herself to be a master of occasion dressing. Indeed, the mother-of-one has been known to borrow clothes from her relatives to create ensembles ranging from outdoorsy to Ascot-ready. Take Royal Ascot last year, when she wore the Juliette Millinery hat that mother-in-law Carole Middleton had previously worn to Prince Louis’ christening in 2018.
