1965.- In an electrifying clash of Italian warriors held in Milan, Italy, the legendary Nino Benvenuti captured the WBC world super welterweight championship after spectacularly knocking out Sandro Mazzinghi in the sixth round of an unforgettable battle.
2008.- Thai monarch Oleydong Sithsamerchai successfully retained his WBC world strawweight crown after winning by way of knockout in the ninth round against courageous Japanese challenger Junichi Ebisuoka, in a bout held at the Saphan Hin in Phuket, Thailand.
2011.- Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez made a brilliant defense of his WBC world super welterweight title by convincingly knocking out English challenger Ryan Rhodes in the twelfth round, igniting the stands of the Arena VFG in Tlajomulco de Zuñiga, Jalisco, Mexico.
2022.- The devastating and undefeated Canadian Artur Beterbiev unified and authoritatively defended his WBC world light heavyweight championship by destroying American Joe Smith Jr. in just two rounds, in a true display of power on the canvas of the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.
