Sault Area Hospital Foundation invites you to step inside the fast-paced world of emergency medicine on Wednesday, July 15 during An Evening with Dr. Brian Goldman.

Dr. Goldman is an emergency physician, bestselling author, and the longtime host of CBC Radio’s White Coat, Black Art and The Dose.

In his latest book The Casino Shift, he brings audiences inside the realities of emergency medicine through real-life stories, difficult decisions, and moments of compassion that unfold behind hospital doors every day. Drawing from decades of experience, he offers a powerful and deeply human look at the pressures facing health-care workers and patients alike.

“We’re honoured to welcome Dr. Goldman to Sault Ste. Marie. His ability to illuminate the human side of health care is extraordinary,” shared Teresa Martone, executive director for Sault Area Hospital Foundation.

“This event offers a rare opportunity to engage with stories that shape our understanding of compassion, resilience, and the realities facing patients and care teams today – all while supporting the work they do by funding the critical medical equipment they use.”

The evening begins at 6:30 pm at The Loft with an armchair-style conversation, where Dr. Goldman shares stories and insights from the front lines of emergency medicine. Guests are invited to continue the discussion during an intimate Q&A and meet-and-greet reception.

Tickets are available now online in two tiers: $60, which includes a copy of The Casino Shift, or $45 for event-only admission. Proceeds from this event will help fund medical equipment for Sault Area Hospital.
