SAN ANTONIO – Two people are in custody after police say two New York Knicks fans were assaulted and robbed following a Spurs game.
In a Facebook post, the San Antonio Police Department alleged that on June 13, 2026, Destiny Converse and Maria Gomez assaulted and robbed 2 Knicks fans after the game.
Police said the assault resulted in serious bodily injury to two people between the ages of 40 and 65 years old.
According to an arrest affidavit, police were called to the scene of a reported assault in progress on June 13 near the corner of Navarro and E Houston Street.
The victims, both wearing New York Knicks apparel, were returning to their hotel following Game 5, when they were confronted by the defendants and two others.
Several bystanders allegedly captured the incident on video, in which the suspect is seen striking the victims multiple times, stealing one of their hats.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital for assessment. Cell phone video also allegedly showed the suspect getting into a vehicle registered to her husband after the attack.
Police also said both suspects were “positively identified and arrested” and are facing charges of aggravated robbery and robbery.
