CALGARY – Calgary police say a teenager who allegedly smashed up his former high school and tried to stab a student has been charged.
Police say they were called to Lester B. Pearson High School about a knife-wielding youth around noon Thursday.
He was allegedly smashing school property and threatening students and staff.

Investigators believe the attack was premeditated and targeted certain people.
One student had minor injuries but was not taken to hospital.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing one count each of attempted murder, uttering threats and mischief to property.
“The bravery of these officers who responded yesterday dramatically affected the outcome of what we’re speaking about today and no one lost their life,” Staff Sgt. Mike Sushelnitsky said at Calgary Police headquarters on Friday.
