Trigger warning: mention of domestic violence
South Korean actor Lee Ji Hoon has been accused of domestic violence by his wife, his talent management confirmed.
The actor’s agency, Y.ONE Entertainment, said in a statement on Friday, August 15, 2025, that Lee Ji Hoon’s wife called the police regarding the incident.
“It’s true that the “40-something actor ‘A’” in today’s reports is our actor Lee Ji Hoon.
“During a marital argument, the police arrived on the scene due to a report by his wife, but they determined, based on testimony at the scene, that it was not a serious incident.”

Despite the incident, the management clarified that Lee’s wife “does not wish to press charges” and stressed that there was “no assault.”
They said, “There was no assault, and his wife has clearly stated that she does not wish to press charges, so the case is currently in the process of being closed.”

In South Korea, assault is considered a “non-prosecutable offense without the victim’s consent,” meaning the case cannot proceed unless the victim chooses to pursue legal action.

The management further emphasized that Lee Ji Hoon and his wife are reflecting on the matter and apologized for the concern it has caused, particularly to the actor’s fans.
They stated, “We deeply apologize for giving you cause for concern through this matter, and both Lee Ji Hoon and his wife are reflecting on the incident.”
According to Soompi.com, police received a phone call on July 24, claiming that Lee Ji Hoon assaulted his wife at their home in Gyeonggi Province.
Reports stated that during an argument, the actor tried to leave the house, but his wife attempted to stop him, which allegedly led to a physical altercation.
