Peel police say two adults are dead following a two-vehicle collision in Brampton, Ont., Saturday.

In a post to social media, Peel Regional Police said they were called to the area of Dixie Road and Queen Street shortly before 1:30 p.m.

Two adults were transported to a local hospital, according to police. In an update Saturday afternoon, Peel police said one adult was pronounced dead.

In a second update to social media Saturday evening, Peel police said a second woman was pronounced dead.

Peel paramedics confirmed they transported two people with life-threatening injuries and another person with minor, non-life threatening injuries to a local hospital.

Speaking to reporters Saturday, Insp. Andrew Harris said investigators are still working to inform next of kin, therefore, the victim’s age and gender will not be disclosed at this time.

Harris said investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
