On a month-on-month basis, however, price growth quickened to 1.99%, compared with 1.68% in June, underscoring persistent short-term pressures. On a monthly basis, food prices increased 3.12%, slightly slower than June’s 3.25%.

The NBS recently rebased its CPI, replacing the 2009 reference year with 2024 and updating the weights of goods and services to reflect 2023 consumption patterns. The change is intended to improve methodological accuracy and ensure the index better captures shifts in household spending.
