The following are Quebec police officers who were killed in attacks while on duty since 1984.

Oct. 6, 1984: Const. Pierre Beaulieu, 38, of Montreal Urban Community police is killed, along with student Giovanni Delli Colli, as Beaulieu questions a man trying to steal Delli Colli’s car in Montreal North. The killer, Dennis Colic, later commits suicide in prison.

Oct. 26, 1985: MUC police Const. Jacinthe Fyfe, 25, becomes the first policewoman slain on duty in Canada when someone fires a bullet through the rear window of her patrol car as she drives down a Dorval street. Her killer, Réal Poirier, 21, is acquitted because of temporary insanity.

May 10, 1986: MUC police Const. Claude Saint-Laurent, 33, and his partner pull a car over on Sherbrooke St. E. In a struggle with the two occupants, Saint-Laurent is shot with his own service revolver and dies later in Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. Yvon Racine, 44, and Pierre Ouellet, 37, are sentenced to life in prison for the slaying.

July 24, 1986: St-Hubert police Const. Marcel Simard, 33, is shot to death with a sawed-off shotgun after questioning a man about the contents of his suspicious-looking knapsack.

Nov. 13, 1986: MUC police Const. Robert Baril, 42, is shot dead with his service revolver while trying to arrest Adélard Vallée in east-end Montreal. Vallée, who was out on day parole after serving 16 years for manslaughter, is later sentenced to life in prison for killing Baril.

June 19, 1991: MUC police officer Yves Phaneuf, 25, is fatally shot point-blank in the face with his service revolver during an early-morning argument with a bicyclist in Verdun.

Nov. 27, 1995: MUC police Const. Odette Pinard, 30, a mother of two, is shot to death while sitting at her desk at a community station in the Cartierville district.

April 29, 1996: MUC police Const. André Lalonde, 51, is shot dead while investigating a car with a noisy muffler on a Senneville road.

Aug. 28, 2000: St-Hubert police Const. Alain Forget, 27, standing behind his patrol car at a roadblock, is killed when fleeing bank-robbery suspects in a stolen minivan drive through the roadblock at full speed.

Feb. 28, 2002: Montreal police Const. Benoît L’Écuyer, 29, dies after being shot four times in the middle of Highway 40 in Anjou. He was chasing suspects who had fled a crash caused by speeding.

March 2, 2007: Laval police Const. Daniel Tessier, 42, is shot dead during a drug raid at a house in Brossard. Const. Stéphane Forbes, 46, is wounded.

March 27, 2023: Sûreté du Québec Sgt. Maureen Breau dies after she is attacked with a knife by a man she and a colleague were arresting at a dwelling in Louiseville.

June 22, 2026: Montreal police Const. Mohamed Lamine Benredouane is killed shortly after police are called to the intersection of Trans Island and de Courtrai Aves. in Côte-des-Neiges regarding a gunman in the area.
