Edmonton… Following an ALERT Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit investigation an Edmonton school custodian has been charged with child sexual exploitation offences.

Crispolo (Cris) Comillas was arrested at his Edmonton home on June 18, 2026 with help from the Edmonton Police Service. At the time of his arrest, the 47-year-old worked as a custodian at Louis St. Laurent Catholic Junior/Senior High School.

While the investigation and charges are related to online offences, the nature of the Comillas’ employment at the school put him in direct contact with youth. ICE is encouraging anyone with information about this case to come forward and contact police. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact local police or Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-TIPS).

The investigation started after a referral by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning an unknown Alberta user sharing child sexual exploitation materials online.

Comillas has been charged with accessing and possessing child sexual exploitation materials.

ICE’s investigation remains ongoing as forensic technicians are analyzing computer and electronic devices that were seized from his home.

Comillas was released from custody under a number of court-imposed conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 6, 2026.

ALERT was established and is funded by the Alberta Government and is a compilation of the province’s most sophisticated law enforcement resources committed to tackling serious and organized crime.
