The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has officially renamed itself and will now be known as World Tennis.
The new name emphasizes the organization’s global role, which oversees the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup, and coordinates tennis events at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The name change was approved in October last year during the annual general meeting of the member associations that comprise the organization.
In the contemporary global context, similar renaming in recent years has also been adopted by other international sports federations, including World Athletics, World Aquatics, World Gymnastics, and World Rugby.
