PHOTOS: More than 600 classic cars roll into Penticton

A lake-to-lake spin from one end of Penticton to the other kicked off the 24th Peach City Beach Cruise on Friday night, June 26.
It’s also known as the annual kick-off to summer in the city, which continued Saturday afternoon, June 27. Thousands of people walked along Lakeshore Drive to get an up-close look at the more than 600 vehicles that have come from across North America.
Large crowds are also gathering inside Gyro Park this week to enjoy food trucks and live entertainment.
Dozens of provincial and state flags are raised on the perimeter of the park in recognition of the many travelling car owners.
The popular lake-to-lake cruise got underway at 6 p.m. on Friday. Around 200 vehicles took part, departing from Skaha Lake and heading down Main Street before parking in their respective spots on Lakeshore Drive for the weekend.
Vehicles are also packed at Rotary Park at the event, which wraps up Sunday, June 28.
It was a busy Saturday in the city, with the Penticton Elvis Festival going ahead at Okanagan Lake Park.
The Downtown Community Market and Penticton Farmers’ Market also closed off much of Main Street in the downtown core from 8:30 a.m. to around 2 p.m.
