I tried, I really tried, but I just can’t watch World Cup soccer.

The main rule seems to be to drop to the ground as if you’d been shot by a sniper, roll around grimacing and holding whatever body part received the invisible bullet, then peek with a sly glance to see if anyone is buying what you are selling.

The second rule is to miraculously jump to your feet to get into the next play.

Unless your name is Ismaël Koné, shame on you. Grow up and play the game professionally, and stop the theatrics; it’s demeaning.

QUIT ON SENS LONG TIME AGO

Let’s get serious. Brady Tkachuk had no intention of staying in Ottawa after he came back from the Olympics. Even after the 4 Nations Cup. After both those tournaments he was a different player. Yes, sure, he gave some spark, but not the same intensity as before.

Brady can play the “it was time for the next chapter” card all he wants, but, sorry, it doesn’t wash.

Brady Tkachuk quit on the Senators a long time ago. Fans shouldn’t think anything different.

MOST WOULD DO WHAT BRADY DID

It wasn’t difficult to see that Brady Tkachuk wanted out. He was not happy about being booed after the Olympics, and the family is very tight and dyed red, white and blue. Tax implications, nice weather, less responsibility … I think most of us would do the same thing, especially when you have a family to support.

I won’t be cheering for him, but I won’t be booing him, either.
