Additional Alberta rainfall through Monday

The heavy rain in Alberta is the remnants of the previous day’s storms to the east. The low will remain clocked over Saskatchewan for the next 48 hours.

Widespread, non-severe storms are expected throughout central and southern Alberta, potentially boosting rainfall totals, especially on Monday.

By Monday, the eastern blocking pattern begins to weaken, allowing the trough at the back of the lo- pressure system to shift southward, directing heavier bands of rain into southern areas and the foothills.
