See these 8 free concerts in Surrey’s Sounds of Summer series starting July 8

Eight free concerts form Surrey’s 2026 Sounds of Summer series, starting July 8.

Performances are Wednesday evenings in July and August at some of Surrey’s most beautiful parks and outdoor spaces, 6:30 at 8 p.m.

As always, the music is diverse with a mix of rock, jazz, country, Punjabi fusion and more on the dates noted below. Artist biographies are from the City of Surrey’s website:

The Woodland Jazz Orchestra, July 8 at The Glades Woodland Garden, 457 172 St., South Surrey: Led by bassist and composer Emilio Suarez, this orchestra brings a sophisticated, high-energy big band sound to the lush, natural beauty of the West Coast. The ensemble is a powerhouse 8-piece collective designed to bridge the gap between classic swing tradition and modern jazz elegance.

Music City Showcase, July 15 at Bear Creek Garden, 13780 88 Ave., Newton: FUSIONpresents and Surrey Parks present the second annual Music City Showcase featuring Surrey’s Coco Larosa, Langley singer-songwriter Drew Storey and the alt-pop music of Sieski.

Mikey Jose & Groffie, July 22 at Sullivan Heights Park, 14426 64 Ave., Newton: As a neuroscience PhD candidate-by-day, independent artist-by-night, Mikey Jose thrives in the in-between, putting him in a unique position to build bridges that connect brain and heart. Mikey takes cues from classic and modern R&B/Soul greats like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Leon Thomas and Beyoncé.

The Boot Scooters & Line Dancing, July 29 at Surrey Civic Plaza, 13450 104 Ave., City Centre: A high-energy collective of seasoned touring session musicians and professional dancers. Blending musical precision with show-stopping choreography, this dynamic group delivers a full-throttle honky-tonk experience unlike any other. Fronted by Emmett Jerome and Nick Varelas, who pay homage to the golden era of country.

Ben Dunnill, Aug. 5 at Darts Hill Garden Park, 1633 170 St., South Surrey: A local favourite, Dunnill has performed professionally since the age of 13. Today, his jazz-pop music showcases his great voice and piano playing. Hear his songs on bendunnillmusic.com.

Robyn Froese and a tribute to Fleetwood Mac, Aug. 12 at Francis Park, 15951 83 Ave., Fleetwood: From the prairies, Froese is a playful, powerhouse performer with a quirky charm, wild vocals and a deep love of songs that move people. For this Fleetwood Mac celebration, she is joined by Jake Hammond (acoustic guitar/vocals), Erin Glaiville (background vocals), Mark Glaiville (keys), Gavin Harper (electric guitar), Saadi (bass) and Ethan Honeywell (drums).

Royal Academy of Punjab dance troupe and workshop, Aug. 19 at T.E. Scott Park, 7014 148 St., Newton: A leading cultural organization based in Surrey, Royal Academy of Punjab is dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating Punjabi arts, music, and heritage across Canada.

Salsa dancing with Mazacote, Aug. 26 at Surrey Civic Plaza, 13450 104 Ave., City Centre: An electrifying world/latin band deeply rooted in the vibrant rhythms of Colombia, Mozambique and Venezuela, Mazacote has a Juno-nominated album in Patria, the songs of which confront pressing socio-political concerns, shedding light on the journeys of those escaping violence and corruption in Latin America and beyond.
