Ryan Blaney is taking NASCAR storytelling off the track and into a new lane.
The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion will host a new digital series, “On The Gas with Ryan Blaney,” debuting July 1 on NASCAR’s YouTube channel. The four-episode series, presented by BODYARMOR Sports Drink, will roll out on the first four Wednesdays of July, featuring celebrity guests Keegan-Michael Key and Chad Ochocinco, along with popular YouTube creators Westen Champlin and The Stradman.
Each episode runs approximately 20 minutes and centers on a unique format: Blaney placing his guests in a real NASCAR driving experience while conducting unscripted, in-car interviews. Rather than traditional sit-down conversations, the series blends high-speed action with candid reactions as guests experience the intensity of stock car racing firsthand.
Blaney said the concept allowed him to showcase the sport in a more immersive way.
“Getting the chance to share what makes NASCAR so exciting with people from different worlds was a lot of fun,” he said. “Every episode brought a different perspective and some unforgettable moments.”
The Team Penske driver, who pilots the No. 12 Ford in the Cup Series, emphasized that the combination of speed, competition and personality helped create authentic and often humorous interactions.
The series comes as NASCAR continues to expand its digital content strategy, targeting younger and streaming-first audiences. Releasing the show exclusively on YouTube aligns with the platform’s massive global reach and increasing popularity on television screens, where viewers now consume over 1 billion hours of content daily.
John Dahl, NASCAR senior vice president of original content, said the project reflects the organization’s push toward innovative storytelling.
“‘On The Gas with Ryan Blaney’ delivers exactly that by pairing one of NASCAR’s biggest stars with guests experiencing the speed and intensity of our sport firsthand,” Dahl said. “This series represents another step in bringing NASCAR’s personalities and culture to a broader audience through premium digital storytelling.”
Blaney has built a growing media presence beyond racing. He recently appeared in Prime Video projects including “NASCAR vs. The Navy” and “Eli Manning Presents: The Undercovers,” adding to his profile as one of the sport’s most recognizable personalities.
The show was produced by FULL SPEED ENTERTAINMENT, a partnership between NASCAR Studios and Words + Pictures focused on expanding NASCAR’s cultural footprint through original programming and talent-driven projects.
Blaney is scheduled to return to on-track competition Sunday at 6 p.m. ET in the eero 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.
