A June 25 report by Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic stated that Dodge could return to the NASCAR Cup Series by 2027, but that may not be the case, according to Kaulig Racing CEO Chris Rice.

Kaulig, which currently fields five RAM entries in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, is expected to be the team with which Dodge makes its return to the Cup Series. Dodge has not fielded Cup entries since 2012.

“We would love to,” Rice said Monday on Door Bumper Clear. “You didn’t think we were going to sit still as Kaulig Racing and doing nothing.”

What could hold Dodge back

Rice went on to explain the major factor that could delay Dodge’s return to the Cup Series.
