Caleb Surratt, who plays for Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf team, Legion XIII, was among the five to get through on the Somerset links.

Royal Cinque Ports

Matthew Southgate, who finished T6 the last time The Open was at Birkdale, was among the five to get through in Kent, as was LIV Golf player Peter Uihlein.

West Lancashire

There will be a Tiger at Birkdale after all – but it will be Christensen rather than Woods teeing up in Southport. Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs teammate Josele Ballester and DP World Tour players Samuel Bairstow and Matthew Jordan also came through a star-studded line-up at West Lancs.
