Surrey mayor says $360M Vancouver Giants arena will be built on time

The City of Surrey plans to build a 10,000-seat hockey arena that will be the new home of the WHL’s Vancouver Giants. Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke defended the project, and said it would not lead to unnecessary costs for taxpayers while Giants majority owner Ron Toigo says the team will not immediately move to rename itself the Surrey Giants.
