Chances are you’ve heard of Pilates and very likely Stott Pilates.

“The Stott Pilates method is globally recognized,” says Susie Thisdelle, owner of Orillia’s Phoenix Health and Fitness. “They’ve been empowering movement professionals, studios, and wellness leaders for over 35 years. It’s where I received my training.”

Stott Pilates Academy training, certification, and continuing education programs are available all over the world at more than 200 academy partners in over 100 countries.

“So, a month ago I applied to become a Stott Pilates Academy partner,” said Thisdelle. “I’m very proud to say that Phoenix Health & Fitness is now one of their training facilities.”

Thisdelle says, over the years, she has evolved and adapted to the demands of running a business.

“We survived COVID lockdowns and, most importantly, responded to the needs of my community,” she said.

“That’s why I became the first facility to offer Pilates Reformer training years ago. I knew I wanted to provide exercise rooted in science and based on proper biomechanics,” said Thisdelle.

“The training I received and now offer in my studio is backed by over three decades of research. It’s a contemporary method trusted by professionals at every stage; from aspiring instructors to industry leaders,” she explained.

“Now after almost 30 years in business I want to pass along my passion for fitness and provide opportunities for those seeking to also become Stott Pilates-certified instructors.”

Programs begin this fall.
