Ahead of the July 3 release of Madonna’s highly anticipated ‘Confessions II,’ the 29-year-old model and musician shared a touching teaser for the song ‘The Test’ on Instagram, posting what appears to be a childhood photo of herself holding hands with her famous mom alongside a selection of heartfelt lyrics.

The nostalgic image immediately caught fans’ attention, with many interpreting it as a reflection on the pair’s evolving relationship.
In the caption, Lourdes wrote:
“The Test” — on Confessions II out July 3.
She then shared lyrics from the track, including:
“A hand tenderly reaching to me
You are my reason to be
What I want, or look like
What I wear
all the clothes on my back…”

The preview comes just days after Madonna revealed that collaborating with Lourdes wasn’t simply about making music.

In a recent interview promoting ‘Confessions II,’ the Queen of Pop shared that it was actually Lourdes who approached her with the idea of writing together as a way to repair and strengthen their relationship.
“The song I wrote with my daughter, Lola. She approached me about writing a song together as a way to heal our relationship,” Madonna explained to People, describing the collaboration as a deeply emotional experience that ultimately helped shape the direction of the album.
