North Langley Bears will be playing in the Vancouver Mainland Football League (VMFL).
Operating under the umbrella of Football BC, VMFL provides tackle and flag football programs for athletes ages 5 to 19.
Football BC made the announcement on Monday, June 29, that North Langley Bears Bantam and Midget football teams will begin competing in the 2026 fall tackle season, becoming the 30th minor football club to join Football BC.
Football BC President Kevin Parks welcomed the Bears. “Everyone at Football BC is delighted to welcome the “Bears” club into our membership,” said Parks.
Football BC Executive Director Keith Ryan said the arrival of the Bears continues their trend of expanding into new communities across the province.
“We continue to welcome new clubs into our membership,” said Ryan.
VMFL president Jason Gillis said the Langley teams “will be a great addition to the Bantam and Midget divisions.”
“The new teams will also be eligible to compete for a place at the 2026 Provincial Championships,” Gillis said.
Vancouver Mainland Football League (VMFL) is the governing body for amateur community youth football and cheerleading in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.
North Langley Bears are the defending 2025 BC Community Football Association (BCCFA) Junior Bantam Champions.
North Langley Football Association or NLFA is a community football association that offers kids ages six to eighteen the opportunity to learn the sport of Canadian Football. The NLFA plays against teams from Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Maple Ridge, and Mission.
Including U8 Flag, Atom, Peewee, Junior Bantam, and Bantam divisions, NLFA practices and local games are typically hosted at McLeod Athletic Park in Langley.
