A Northwest Territories man charged with assault, sexual assault and failure to comply with a release order is now in custody.
On June 1, Ulukhaktok RCMP sought public assistance to locate Chris Banksland, 46, who police believed to be “actively evading police.”
N.W.T. RCMP said Friday Banksland was arrested in Toronto by the Toronto Police Service June 28.
RCMP say arrangements are being made to bring Banksland back to the Northwest Territories to face the charges in court.
