Cyclists aim to raise $130,000 for multiple sclerosis during Chilliwack fundraiser

A two-day cycling fundraiser is coming to Chilliwack this summer with a goal of raising $130,000 for Multiple Sclerosis Canada.
MS Bike – Chilliwack will start at Chilliwack Heritage Park on Saturday, July 11 and will end the following day at the same location.
The event will bring hundreds of cyclists and supporters of the multiple sclerosis community to the area.
There are three different routes – 30 km, 60 km, and 100 km on the first day – and then everyone rides a 37-kilometre route on Sunday, July 12.
It will take riders along scenic mountain views, the Vedder River, flat farmlands, and beautiful country roads.
Participants ride at their own pace and the event includes a beer garden, two ice cream stops, plus lunch on Saturday.
This event is one of 11 MS Bike events happening over a four-month period across Canada.
This year, the event in Chilliwack has a fundraising goal of $130,000, with the current amount raised sitting at more than $90,000.
More than 90,000 people in Canada live with MS, and approximately 12 Canadians are diagnosed with the neurological disease each day. Funds raised over the course of MS Bike go toward programs from MS Canada, including peer support groups, the MS Knowledge Network, as well as critical research into the causes and treatments for the disease, and more.
