Fujifilm will launch the retro-styled X-E5 mirrorless APS-C camera on August 28, 2025, featuring a 40.2MP X-Trans sensor, 6.2K video, and Intelligent Hybrid AF. It offers 35mm film simulation filters, 7-stop stabilization, and a tilting LCD for creative control.
Fujifilm has revealed that August 28, 2025, will be the launch date of the previously announced X-E5 mirrorless APS-C digital camera, a model with a classic 35mm film camera design and interchangeable lens capability. The camera comes in black or silver for an MSRP of $1699.95.
The camera is fitted with a 40.2MP X-Trans sensor capable of taking photos at up to 20 fps and recording videos in resolutions up to 6.2K. An external microphone can be connected to the 3.5mm mic-in jack. A built-in stabilizer is rated at 7.0 stops (center) and 6.0 stops (edges) based on the CIPA standard. Focusing is achieved with the Intelligent Hybrid AF, which combines through-the-lens contrast and phase detection autofocusing methods.
AÂ Film Simulation dial provides access to Fujifilm color filters that replicate 35mm film favorites such as Velvia as well as user-customized looks. Users can view the effects of the filters on a 0.39-inch OLED viewfinder and 3.0-inch tilting LCD display. 16-bit RAW photos and All-Intra/Long-GOP videos at 200 Mbps are saved to SDXC cards.
The Fujifilm X-E5 measures 4.92 x 2.87 x 1.54 in. (124.9 x 72.9 x 39.1 mm) and weighs 15.7 oz. (445 g) with the SD card and battery.
