A governorship aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strategic and bold reforms.
He said they have saved the economy from comatose.
Ogunbiyi said President Tinubu’s leadership acumen and Midas touch had brought about transformative changes in the nation’s economy, freeing it from the shackles of economic cankerworms that could have had long-lasting impacts.
The APC chieftain spoke at a meeting with the expanded caucus of Osun APC Women Wing held in Osogbo yesterday.
According to a statement issued by his media team, Ogunbiyi highlighted the President’s bold decision to remove fuel subsidy and float the naira, which had brought about socio-economic stability in Nigeria.
This, he said, had improved the supply of petrol, reduced queues at filling stations and eased burden on Nigerians, adding that ‘’businesses now have unhindered access to foreign currency, enabling them to operate more smoothly.
“In Nigeria of today, we no longer experience long queues at filling stations. Businesses can enjoy unhindered access to stable foreign exchange; and all sub-nationals have enough resources to expand the prism of socio-economic development for the people.
“These are undeniable gains of what courage, ingenuity and vision can birth for any nation that has a transformative leader such as President Tinubu,” he said.
Speaking on his governorship aspiration, Ogunbiyi expressed his commitment to a peaceful political approach, emphasising that his ambition was driven by a desire to serve, rather than self-centred interests.
He distanced himself from do-or-die politics, restating his dedication to the unity of APC under the leadership of Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola and Pa Bisi Akande at the state and national levels.
Speaking on behalf of the APC Women Wing, the state Women Leader, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde, lauded Ogunbiyi for his dedication to the progress and unity of the party, reiterating the need to continue advancing the interest of women at all levels.
