The recently competitive Seattle Storm head to crypto.com Arena on Monday to face the shorthanded Los Angeles Sparks as both teams search for a much-needed victory.

The Sparks’ defense has struggled all season, and my Storm vs. Sparks predictions call for a strong offensive performance from leading scorer Dominique Malonga.

Read on in my WNBA picks to see why I’m backing Malonga’s scoring prop and how I’m building a +550 SGP centered around big games from she and Awa Fam as they lead the Storm to victory as the road underdogs.

Storm vs Sparks prediction
Storm vs Sparks best bet: Dominique Malonga Over 18.5 points (-105)

Dominique Malonga leads the Seattle Storm in scoring as a sophomore, averaging 16.9 points per game. She’s scored 19+ in half of her 14 appearances, and she’s reached that mark in four of her last seven.

In that span, Malonga has averaged 19.7 points, good for 11th in the W. She has a three-point shot, but most of her damage is done in the paint. With Los Angeles Sparks defensive specialist Cameron Brink sidelined, Malonga has an advantageous matchup.

This one is playable to 19.5 points for +122 odds, as the electric scorer faces the league’s worst defense.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Seattle’s starting center ranks third in PITP scoring and second in second-chance points. Los Angeles has allowed the third-most PITP and rebounds.

After missing the start of the season and spending time coming off the bench, Awa Fam has thrived since joining the first unit. In 12 games as a starter, she’s averaged 20.9 PRA and gone for 20+ eight times, including 22 against the Sparks. Playable up to 22.5.

The Sparks’ defense is atrocious, and without Kelsey Plum on the court, LA isn’t scoring enough to win shootouts. LA’s Offensive Rating drops from 111.7 to 102.6, and the point differential is -14.5 without her. Seattle has covered in three of its last five against better opponents.
