Little Mountain Gallery is launching its Sunday Summer Series, a weekly stand-up showcase running every Sunday as part of the neighbourhood’s summer pedestrian programming.
The timing is intentional. While Gastown Sunday Set fills Water Street with markets, music, art, and community events during the day, Little Mountain Gallery is extending the neighbourhood’s Sunday energy into the evening with live comedy upstairs at its Water Street venue.
The series coincides with the 2026 Gastown Water Street Pedestrian Zone, which closes the historic street to vehicle traffic from noon until 8 p.m. each Sunday throughout the summer.
“Gastown comes alive for these car-free Sundays, and we wanted to add to the success of the Water Street Pedestrian Zone with more arts and culture programming,” executive director Brent Constantine said in a statement. “You can spend the whole afternoon out on Water Street, then come upstairs and end your Sunday with live comedy. It’s the perfect end to the weekend.”
The new series also builds on an especially busy comedy summer for the Gastown venue. LMG is currently hosting its second annual stand-up competition, where local comics compete through preliminary rounds, semifinals, and a final showdown for a $1,500 grand prize.
