Grady Young’s time at the 2026 Calgary Stampede has come to an end.
The bull rider from Leader, Saskatchewan, was bucked off in his opening ride on Monday, and has been ruled out of the rest of Pool B competition after being put into concussion protocol.
The news was announced by former bull rider Scott Schiffner on the rodeo broadcast on Tuesday.
“He started a round-winning ride, come off hard, landed, hit his head and he’s now under concussion protocol, so his Calgary Stampede is now done,” Schiffner said.
Young, 20, is the top bull rider on the CPRA circuit this season and finished in a tie for second at the 2025 Calgary Stampede.
