Chase Elliott will compete in the July 18 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro Speedway behind the wheel of the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet, driving a truck that was originally set to be driven by the late Kyle Busch.

Busch, who died May 21, won in two of his four Truck Series starts this season, including his final NASCAR win at Dover Motor Speedway on May 15.

Busch was scheduled to make four other Truck starts in 2026: one at Charlotte the day after his death, Nashville on May 29, North Wilkesboro and Richmond on Aug. 14.

Chase Elliott’s Truck Series history with Kyle Busch

Elliott, the 2020 Cup Series champion, will be making his first Truck Series start since 2023. His last victory in the series came at Charlotte in 2020 in a race where a $100,000 “Kyle Busch bounty” was put up due to Busch’s dominance in the series. Elliott beat Busch to earn his third career Truck Series win and claim the bounty. The July 18 race will mark Elliott’s 19th series start.
