Another full day of rodeo, agriculture, family programming, live music and evening entertainment is on the Calgary Stampede schedule for Thursday, July 9.

The day includes the Stampede Rodeo, the Evening Show, a basketball game at the Scotiabank Saddledome, the Cowboy Up Challenge, culinary programming, kids’ entertainment and late-night concerts at Nashville North, the Coca-Cola Stage and The Big Four Roadhouse.

All-day and ongoing attractions

Several attractions are scheduled throughout the day, including Canadian Armed Forces Displays at the Kids’ Midway, interpretive programming at Elbow River Camp Presented By Enbridge and live sand sculpting at Western Oasis in the BMO Centre.

The Market, Born To Buck presented by Holt Renfrew, Cattle Trail, Horse Haven, Nutrien Ag-tivity in the City, Draft Horse Town, blacksmiths and farm equipment displays are also part of Thursday’s lineup.

Agriculture programming continues with Country Critters, the Milky Way Dairy Display and demonstrations in the Agriculture Barns, as well as sheep and pork showcases in the Nutrien Western Event Centre.

Morning and midday highlights

Working Cow Horse Spectacular is scheduled in the Nutrien Western Event Centre.

Paw Patrol: Dino Rescue! is scheduled for the BMO Kids’ Zone, with a Paw Patrol Meet & Greet also on the schedule.

Flag Raising, Camp Riders, Horse Culture, Tipi Viewing, Traditional Games and interpretive tours are scheduled at Elbow River Camp Presented By Enbridge throughout the day.

Family programming continues with Bubble Playshop, Little Rodeo Pro, Team T&J Present Kids’ Dino Stompin’ Jamboree, Gabby’s Dollhouse Dance Party and Gabby’s Dollhouse Meet & Greet.

Freestyle Motocross is scheduled at the Monster Energy Compound, while Full Throttle is scheduled at the Dog Bowl Arena in Community Park South.

Afternoon events

The Stampede Rodeo begins at 1:30 p.m. at GMC Stadium.

Taste of Stampede Culinary Cup quarterfinals are scheduled in the BMO Centre, with additional cooking and community showcase programming also planned during the day.

Hand Games Competition is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Elbow River Camp Presented By Enbridge.

The Canadian National Miniature Horse Show begins at 4 p.m. in the Northern Lights Arena in the Agriculture Zone Presented by Brandt.

The Charms are scheduled for 5:15 p.m. in the Nutrien Western Event Centre.

Live music and entertainment

Coca-Cola Stage programming includes Frank Mighty, Micah Sage, Geordie Kieffer, Sydney Rose and Mother Mother.

Nashville North features Tristan Horncastle, Julia Vos, Restless Road, Chris Young and Drew Gregory.

At The Big Four Roadhouse, Kate & The Comets are scheduled throughout the afternoon and early evening, followed by Everlast at 9 p.m. and Jade Elephant at 11 p.m.

Dueling Piano Kings are scheduled in the Stampede Cellar Champion Wine Experience at 5:30 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Evening schedule

The SURGE 2 Stampede Basketball Game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Cowboy Up Challenge Pre-Show begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Nutrien Western Event Centre, followed by the Cowboy Up Challenge at 7 p.m.

The Evening Show begins at 7:15 p.m. at GMC Stadium.

Taste of Stampede: Midway Mixology is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the BMO Centre.

The Grand Staircase Show featuring the Stampede Showband is scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.

Flag Lowering is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Elbow River Camp Presented By Enbridge.
