There is a tragic update regarding the collision that shut down Rapids Road.
Central Hastings OPP say that the single-vehicle collision in Tweed has resulted in a fatality.
OPP reported late last night that Rapids Road between Martin Road and Marrisett Road north of Thomasburg was closed due to the collision.
As a result of the collision, the driver and lone occupant, a 41-year-old male from Foxboro, was pronounced deceased.
The investigation by Central Hastings OPP remains ongoing, with assistance from Collision Reconstructionists and Technical Collision Investigators from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team.
Rapids Road was closed for several hours between Martin Road and Marrisett Road while emergency crews and investigators were on scene, but has since reopened.
