British ace Lloyd Glasspool has officially become the new world No. 1 in doubles as of today.
Glasspool and his partner, Julian Cash, went on a 22-match winning streak which spanned titles at Queen’s, Eastbourne, Wimbledon, and Toronto, before losing in the Cincinnati semi-finals over the weekend.
“It’s an amazing feeling, it’s something to tell the grandkids,” Glasspool said after becoming the top-ranked doubles player.
“It’s probably more special on that side of it rather than actually whilst you play. But I think it is a good reflection of the year we’ve had.
“Being the No. 1 team as well, me and Jules, we’ve had such a great year, such a good past couple months, I think it’s deserved.”
