Operations at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport were disrupted Thursday afternoon after Air Canada Flight 774 from Los Angeles veered off a taxiway after landing.
No one was injured in the incident, but the north runway was closed while the aircraft was evacuated, the airport said.
Flight AC774, from Los Angeles to Montréal, operated by a Boeing 737 MAX, exited the taxiway upon landing at @yulaeroport, at approximately 4pm. There are no reported injuries.

Air Canada told The Gazette that Flight AC774 “landed normally” at Montreal-Trudeau before experiencing a “taxiway excursion” after exiting the runway.

The airline said the aircraft came to a stop in the grass. No injuries were reported among the 156 passengers and six crew members on board.
Passengers were being transported to the terminal by bus, while plans were being made to tow the aircraft to a hangar for a full inspection, Air Canada said. It later confirmed that all passengers and crew had been safely deplaned and were in the terminal.
NAV Canada, which manages air traffic control, warned of “delays affecting flights at YUL this evening due to reduced runway availability following an aircraft incident and weather in the region.
“Our team is moving aircraft safely, and as quickly as possible,” it said.
Data from flight tracking website FlightRadar24 shows AC774, a Boeing 737 Max 8, landed just before 4 p.m. on Runway 6 Left, then turned onto Taxiway B1 but appears to have overshot a 150-degree right turn onto Taxiway B, which runs parallel to the runway.

Rain was falling on the airport at the time of landing.
The cause of the taxiway excursion remains under investigation.
“Air Canada is undertaking a detailed investigation into this incident, and will work with relevant authorities to determine the cause,” the airline said in a statement to The Gazette.
Runway 6L/24R remained closed Thursday evening, but Runway 6R/24L was still being used for takeoffs and landings.
The plane involved in the incident was scheduled to fly to San Francisco Thursday evening and back to Montreal on Friday morning. Those flights have been cancelled.
