The Chicago Bears have one of the more exciting offenses in the NFL for the upcoming 2026 season. Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson in year two together are going to be very exciting.

But the weapons in the receiving game, mainly Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, and Colston Loveland, are drawing a lot of excitement. However, one NFL executive believes another player should be worth getting excited about.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN shared that one NFL executive has some high praise for Kmet and is urging the Bears to use him often alongside Loveland in 2026.

“He’s still a quality player who’s friendly for a young quarterback, good in the run game,” a personnel executive with an NFL team told Fowler. “They need to find ways to get Kmet and Loveland on the field together.”

Kmet, the $50 million Bears tight end who was a potential trade candidate this offseason, is someone who this NFL executive believes should get more opportunities with the Bears in 2026.

While so much attention is on Loveland and his development in year two, this exec doesn’t want Kmet to fall by the wayside.

It’s not like the Bears are going to listen to this executive’s wish, but Johnson and the Chicago offense are likely to utilize 12 personnel often, with two tight ends on the field at the same time, during the upcoming season.

With only two good receivers in Burden and Odunze, having Loveland and Kmet on the field with them and one of D’Andre Swift or Kyle Monangai in the backfield would make for the best-possible offense the Bears could have on the field.

Loveland had 713 yards and six touchdowns on 58 receptions this past season, and was, by far, the more exciting player. But Kmet had 347 yards and two touchdowns on 30 receptions, and has been a solid receiver and especially a good blocker for the Bears.

This NFL executive had some high praise for Kmet, the backup Bears TE, and also hopes to see Chicago utilize him often during the upcoming season.

Kmet was an honorable mention in the NFL’s top-10 TE ranking this season, and it’s a cool honor for Kmet, as he was overshadowed by Loveland, but not forgotten as a good TE in the NFL who’s worth keeping on a roster even at his high price tag.
