IRVING, Texas – Harlee Head was named the American Conference Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week while Megan Bradley and Rachel Logue were named Honorable Mentions for week one, the conference announced on Monday afternoon (Aug. 18).

Head started both games in net for Charlotte in the team’s 2-0-0 start, posting a debut shutout in the 2-0 win over UNC Wilmington (Aug. 14) with a pair of saves for her fifth career individual clean sheet. In the 2-1 win over Radford (Aug. 17), she stifled three shots to keep the Highlanders at bay in a hard-fought win for the Niners. Head becomes the second American Women’s Goalkeeper of the Week winner for Charlotte, joining five-time winner Emma Wakeman.

Bradley was named as an Honorable Mention after playing a crucial part in both wins for the Niners, tallying five points across the opening two games. She assisted the opening goal in the win over UNCW before playing the role of scorer against Radford, notching both tallies in the opening 12 minutes to lift Charlotte to the win.

Logue started and played every minute of Charlotte’s opening two games as a center back and was a crucial contributor on both sides of the field. She scored her first career goal as the opener in the Niners’ win over UNCW while anchoring the backline to a clean sheet, before providing a steady presence once again during the Radford match.

This is the first time that Charlotte has had three players named to the American Weekly Awards List for women’s soccer, with the previous mark being two. Bradley and Logue are the fifth and sixth Niners to be named American Conference Honorable Mentions, joining Wakeman, Macey Bader, Sydney Smith, and Evie Craven.
