World Boxing Council will present inaugural “WBC Metta Humanitarian Belt” In Thailand

We are proud to announce that the winner of the fight between heavyweight superstar Tyson Fury and Polish veteran Mariusz Wach will be honored with the inaugural WBC METTA Humanitarian Belt, a special recognition that values the extraordinary humanitarian service and the positive impact boxing has beyond the ring.
Inspired by the Thai concept of เมตตา (Metta)—meaning loving-kindness, compassion, goodwill, and selfless care for others—the WBC METTA Humanitarian Belt celebrates individuals, whose actions have meaningfully improved the lives of others and reflects the organization’s enduring commitment to social responsibility.
The belt will be presented during Fury’s upcoming visit to Thailand, where his charitable efforts have inspired communities throughout the country, for his upcoming bout against Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach in a 12-round bout on Friday, July 24, at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand.
Fury’s humanitarian work in Thailand has become a defining part of his legacy. His upcoming boxing event in Pattaya has been transformed into a major charitable initiative, with the British champion donating 100 percent of the proceeds from 1,500 VIP ticket sales to organizations supporting starving, underprivileged, and homeless children throughout Pattaya.
Crafted to embody Thailand’s rich cultural heritage, the WBC METTA Humanitarian Belt features the iconic WBC logo at its center, surrounded by the flags of the WBC’s global family to symbolize humanitarian efforts without borders.
The belt proudly displays the colors of the Thai flag and incorporates traditional symbols.
• Centre Plate: The iconic WBC logo is the focal point, surrounded by international flags that symbolize the organization’s global humanitarian efforts without borders. Displayed prominently at the top and center is the word METTA / เมตตา, while the strap proudly displays the red, white, and blue colors of the Thailand flag.
• The Protective Elephants: On the sides, two elephants face inward toward the center plate. Symbols of wisdom, strength, dignity, loyalty, and compassion in Thailand, their positioning represents the custody and protection of the humanitarian values of METTA.
• The Lotus Flower: Represents purity, hope, and resilience. Just as the lotus emerges pristine from muddy waters, it symbolizes the universal capacity to overcome adversity.
• The Traditional Thai Kanok Pattern: Thailand’s most iconic decorative art, sculpted in high relief with flowing gold details that bring elegance, harmony, and a mystical beauty to the piece.
• Thai Silk Pattern: A beautiful pattern that pays tribute to the internationally renowned craftsmanship, tradition, and cultural identity of the country.
Beyond fundraising, Fury has personally visited orphanages during his time in Thailand, spending time with children, delivering donations, and using his international platform to raise awareness for vulnerable communities in need.
