RFK Racing heads to EchoPark Speedway facing one of its most important weekends of the season, with all three drivers carrying playoff implications into the NASCAR Cup Series’ return to the Georgia oval.
The organization has long enjoyed success at Atlanta, earning 13 victories across NASCAR’s top three national series, including six Cup Series wins. EchoPark Speedway also remains one of the tracks where RFK’s drafting-track program has consistently shown strength.
Brad Keselowski enters the weekend as the team’s most accomplished Atlanta driver. The 2012 Cup Series champion owns two victories at the track and 12 top-10 finishes in 23 career starts. While Keselowski sits 20th in points, he is just 19 points below the playoff cut line and enters a stretch of tracks where he has historically excelled.
“This is a section of the schedule where Brad has been successful throughout his career,” making Atlanta a critical opportunity to gain ground in the postseason fight.
Chris Buescher remains RFK’s highest-ranked driver in the standings, sitting seventh overall. Although still searching for his first win of the season, Buescher has been one of the sport’s most consistent performers and owns five top-10 finishes at EchoPark Speedway. Atlanta’s drafting-style format could provide one of his best opportunities yet to secure a playoff-clinching victory.
Meanwhile, Ryan Preece may face the most pressure of the three. The driver of the No. 60 Ford sits just four points below the playoff cut line entering the weekend. Preece finished ninth in February’s Atlanta race — his best result in a points-paying event this season — and believes the track’s unique style suits the team’s strengths.
All three RFK entries led laps in the season’s first Atlanta event, highlighting the speed the organization has found on the reconfigured 1.54-mile oval.
Following a challenging weekend at Chicagoland, where pit-road issues and on-track adversity hampered results, RFK sees EchoPark Speedway as a chance to reset its momentum. With seven regular-season races remaining and playoff positions tightening, Atlanta could prove pivotal in determining the organization’s postseason outlook.
