Police are investigating an alleged assault that took place in the vicinity of Craigflower Schoolhouse and Kosapsom Park.
The Saanich Police Department said shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday morning (July 11), they received a report of an assault in the park, near Craigflower Bridge on Admirals Road.
“The lone adult male victim was transported to the hospital for medical assistance with non-life-threatening injuries,” said a police news release.
“After searching Gorge park, officers located a crime scene, and the park was secured and contained.”
Police are investigating the incident and there are are no immediate safety concerns to the public.
A witness said Saturday morning the area on Admirals Road had been taped off, with multiple officers on the scene. After 8 a.m. an officer was observed taking photographs of the area.
“The police showed up with their photographer and he started going around and taking pictures of the entire pathway from one end up to the schoolhouse, and then around the schoolhouse on the backside of the building,” said Charles Bodi.
Bodi says he also observed officers standing around a brown paper lunch bag.
As of 11 a.m. the park was open to the public, with no police presence seen in the area.
