(NewsNation) — Leading family psychologist Dr. Rebecca Bailey believes there may not be a simple fix available to help the children in the Ohio “House of Horrors” case.

On June 30, law enforcement arrested Elizabeth Siders, 33; Gary Siders Jr., 36; Gary Siders Sr., 73; and Christina Siders, 66, on child endangerment charges.

Elizabeth Siders, along with her husband and his parents, were charged with allegedly endangering their 16 children, who authorities said were living in squalid conditions.

Authorities described the Siders children as “feral” after discovering their limited ability to communicate. Most of the children lived in a 12-by-12 room, according to Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson, and are now in state custody.

Bailey joined “Jesse Weber Live” on Friday to discuss her perspective on the possible psychological outlook of the children.

“There’s going to be no magic therapy that’s going to make it all go away,” she said.

“Each of the kids is going to be different, but what they need more than anything is the feeling of community and safety and connection to others … Each of them is going to have such a different reaction coming out of here.”

Authorities said upon entering the house, they observed what appeared to be stacks of garbage. Wilson added that conditions were so deplorable that investigators couldn’t reach certain areas in the house.

They did not divulge how they first became aware of the Siders’ home. However, court records showed a warrant was issued for Gary Siders Jr. stemming from misdemeanor indecent exposure charges related to alleged incidents in May.

“You know, for some of them, it’s going to be very, very scary. Believe it or not, leaving that situation, that’s all they, for some of them, it’s all they’ve known. It’s very frightening,” Bailey said.
